My Story

You know how some people collect stamps or coins? I collect life-changing food experiences and fascinating human connections. As the face behind C Kology Channel and the upcoming Talk with CK Podcast, I’ve turned my obsession with authentic local culture into my full-time gig since 2025 – with some freelance writing and videography thrown in when I need extra coffee money (which is often).

Born in Butterworth, Penang (Malaysia’s unofficial food capital), I’ve been a global nomad since 17 but keep getting pulled back to Southeast Asia’s intoxicating mix of sizzling woks, vibrant traditions, and warm hospitality. There’s just something magical about how a simple bowl of noodles can tell the story of generations, or how a street food vendor’s smile makes even the sweatiest roadside meal unforgettable.

I’m on a mission to take you beyond the tourist traps and Instagram clichés. We’re talking about befriending third-generation hawkers at dawn markets, discovering secret family recipes, and understanding how food weaves together Malaysia’s incredible cultural tapestry – with plenty of delicious detours to Thailand’s fiery curries, Vietnam’s aromatic pho, and Indonesia’s mind-blowing street snacks along the way.

At heart, I’m just a Penang boy who wants to share the real, messy, glorious soul of Southeast Asia – one slurp, one story, one spontaneous adventure at a time. So grab some tissues (for both the spicy food and heartwarming moments), and let’s explore together! After all, the best stories aren’t found in guidebooks – they’re served on banana leaves, shouted across busy markets, and passed down through generations one delicious bite at a time.

About this Blog

How C Kology Went From Pandemic Project to Full-Blown Adventure Channel

Let me take you back to where it all began – like so many other wanderlust-fueled creators, I started C Kology during the pandemic as my personal love letter to Penang. Stuck at home but buzzing with restless energy, I began documenting every fascinating tradition, hidden alleyway, and mouthwatering street food stall in my hometown. What began as a creative outlet quickly became an obsession!

I fell head over heels for every chaotic, beautiful part of content creation – from dreaming up wild filming ideas at 2AM (we’ve all been there), to hunting down untold stories, to that magical moment when you finally nail the perfect shot. YouTube became my playground for sharpening all these skills, though I’ll admit the business side hit me like a durian to the face! SEO? Marketing algorithms? I had to learn it all through glorious trial and error (emphasis on the error part).

But here’s the thing – through all the growth and changes, my core mission never wavered. I’m still that same wide-eyed storyteller obsessed with authentic flavors, vibrant traditions, and the incredible makers keeping heritage alive. That’s how my “Colour, Culture & Creativity” philosophy was born – because Southeast Asia isn’t just a place, it’s a living, breathing masterpiece of human connection.

These days, you’ll find me splitting time between chasing monsoons for the perfect shot, geeking out over traditional handicrafts, and eating my weight in street food (all in the name of research, obviously). But at heart, I’m still just trying to create the kind of travel resources I wish existed – guides that go beyond the postcard views to reveal the real pulse of a place.

So whether you’re here for the food coma-inducing trails, the offbeat cultural deep dives, or just to fuel your wanderlust – welcome to the party. Things might get messy (have you seen me try to eat soup on camera?), but they’ll always be 100% real. Now, who’s ready to explore?

My Mission

Let’s be real—I’m just a curious, thrill-seeking guy who can’t sit still. I live for the rush of exploring new cultures, diving into street food chaos, and getting lost in places where Google Maps gives up. But here’s the twist: I want my adventures to actually mean something.

Yeah, I’ve got a background in international development and Fair Trade (fancy talk for "I care about how the world works"), but really, I’m just obsessed with connecting with people and places in a way that leaves them better than I found them. I don’t do surface-level tourism—I want the real deal. The hidden family-run workshops, the grassroots homestays, the street vendors whose recipes tell generations of stories.

This website? It’s my way of shouting from the rooftops about the underrated spots, the local legends, and the businesses that deserve your attention (and your cash) way more than some overpriced tourist trap. I’m all about travel that’s wild, immersive, and actually does some good—whether that’s supporting a village weaving cooperative or just eating at the stall where grandma’s been cooking for 40 years.

So if you’re the kind of traveler who wants more than just a selfie spot—if you want to come home with stories, new friends, and maybe even a little positive impact under your belt—then let’s do this. Adventure responsibly, spend thoughtfully, and dive deep. The world’s too fascinating to just scratch the surface.

Let’s go get lost—the right way.🚀🌏
